Emergency Light Sign

An emergency light sign refers to combination exit sign with emergency light models. Combination models are the most popular choice for those that need to install both emergency light fixtures and exit signs. Combination models are a 2 for 1 solution that only requires one electrical connection. The exit sign and emergency lights operate using AC power and switch to an internal battery pack when AC power is lost. AC power is commonly lost during emergency situations such as earthquakes and fires.

Exit signs are required to be placed throughout corridors and above doorways to guide building patrons towards the nearest outdoor exit. The exit sign portion of our combination models utilize efficient LED technology that provides powerful illumination while consuming less than five watts electricity. Emergency lights aid building egress by illuminating the exit pathway when AC electrical power and lighting is lost. Emergency lights are required in facilities without emergency generators and exit signs are required in all facilities. Our combination models feature two emergency lamps that are side or top-mounted depending on the model. We even manufacture a combination model with adjustable lamp heads that can be positioned on the top or side.

The EXS series thermoplastic exit sign with emergency lights is our most popular model. Beginning at less than $40, the EXS is available in black or white and comes with side mounted emergency lamps. An internal 6-volt 4.5-amp battery provides a minimum 90 minutes of emergency operation after power is lost. The EXS series comes with two faceplates and a single backplate, so it can be used for both singe and double-faced applications.

For outdoor applications you will need to purchase a wet location approved combination model. The LPWXC is a single-faced low profile combination model that features a polycarbonate face shield and two side mounted lamps. You have the choice of standard square lamp heads or compact MR16 lamps.
