An emergency light is a light fixture that illuminates during emergencies, such as fires, when AC electrical power is lost. Emergency fixtures are required in buildings that do not have emergency generators that keep the lights on when AC power is lost. Emergency lights are required to produce at least one-foot candle of illumination along the path egress at all times. Emergency lights operate off internal battery backup systems that constantly charge while AC power is operable, and then discharge after power is lost. Exitsigns.net manufactures and sells all types of emergency lights for retail, office, and commercial applications. All of our emergency lights are UL Listed and code compliant for the United States, Canada, and abroad.
For indoor applications, thermoplastic emergency lights are the affordable choice. The Exitsigns.net EL-1 series is our most affordable unit, starting at less than $20. The EL-1 series is available in white or black and comes with an easy to operate push-to-test button. Two 5.4-watt incandescent lamps provide powerful illumination and are easy to position. The EL-1 series can easily be installed on ceilings, walls, or EL-1 boxes.

If you are looking for a low-profile look that does not alter your interior’s aesthetic, purchase one of our recessed emergency light models. The RMDEL recessed emergency light is suitable for both drywall and suspended ceiling installations. The RMDEL comes with two powerful MR16 lamps that are gyroscopically mounted for easy positioning. Similar to the RMDEL, the CRMEL features one MR16 lamp. The CRMEL is designed for retrofit and new construction installations into standard six-inch can housings. Both models come with LED indicators and push-to-test buttons.

The Exitsigns.net industrial series is ideal for commercial installation in high-abuse and corrosive environments. Industrial emergency lights are constructed from metal or corrosive resistant thermoplastic and can withstand water and other elements. Our industrial models can be outfitted with increased battery and lamp head wattages for applications that require powerful illumination. Increasing the battery size also enables the unit to be capable of powering remote lamp heads. Remote capability decreases the amount of fixtures needed by utilizing the battery in one unit to provide power to multiple, remotely located lamp heads.
