Exit lighting generally refers to exit signs and emergency lights. Exit signs and emergency lights are safety fixtures that help occupants quickly and effectively exit to the outside of the building during an emergency. Exit signs are illuminated signs that display the word “EXIT” in colors of red or green. Exit signs are placed above doorways, throughout corridors, and in stairwells. Emergency lights are lighting fixtures that illuminate the exit pathway during emergencies where AC power is lost. Emergency lights come on only when power is lost, whereas exit signs are on 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Exit signs are required in all facilities and emergency lights are required in facilities without emergency power generators. LED exit signs are the most popular type of electrical exit sign. LED (light emitting diode) technology provides powerful illumination while using less than five watts of electricity. The most affordable type of LED exit sign that we manufacture is our thermoplastic series. The EXIT series thermoplastic exit sign begins at less than $20 and is suitable for indoor environments. The EXIT series comes with two faceplates and one backplate, so it can be configured for single or double-sided applications. All necessary hardware and installation instructions are included.

Non-electrical exit signs have recently seen a rise in popularity because of their low maintenance costs and ease of installation. Photoluminescent exit signs utilize glow-in-the-dark technology and last for 25 years. Photoluminescent exit signs are perfect for commercial interiors, such as offices, where ambient light is readily available. Self-luminous exit signs use a glowing form of hydrogen that lasts as long as 20 years. Self-luminous exit signs can be placed indoors or outdoors, with no need for ambient light.

Similar to our thermoplastic exit signs, our thermoplastic emergency lights are affordable and effective. The EL-1 is an all-purpose emergency lights with two incandescent lamp heads that is suitable for indoors installations. For outdoors installations, the WVHEL is a thermoplastic emergency light with two MR16 lamps and a waterproof polycarbonate face cover.
