Exit Lighting

Exit lighting generally refers to exit signs and emergency lights. Exit signs and emergency lights are safety fixtures that help occupants quickly and effectively exit to the outside of the building during an emergency. Exit signs are illuminated signs that display the word “EXIT” in colors of red or green. Exit signs are placed above doorways, throughout corridors, and in stairwells. Emergency lights are lighting fixtures that illuminate the exit pathway during emergencies where AC power is lost. Emergency lights come on only when power is lost, whereas exit signs are on 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Exit signs are required in all facilities and emergency lights are required in facilities without emergency power generators. The EL-1 is an all-purpose emergency lights with two incandescent lamp heads that is suitable for indoors installations. For outdoors installations, the WVHEL is a thermoplastic emergency light with two MR16 lamps and a waterproof polycarbonate face cover.
