Exit Signage

Exit signage refers to signs that read “EXIT” and are placed throughout buildings and facilities. Exit signs provide a visual guide to the nearest exit for occupants during emergencies such as fires and earthquakes. Exit signs have been in use for more than 60 years and are required by building and fire codes. Exit signs are important to building safety and in the past have required constant maintenance. Recent advances in technology have minimize operating costs, both energy and maintenance. Exitsigns.net is the industry leader in energy efficient and long lasting exit signs. All of our exit signs are Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed and code compliant in North America and abroad.

If you are working on a retrofit project that involves replacing incandescent exit signs, consider purchasing LED exit signs. Exitsigns.net LED exit signs use two to four watts of electricity and last for as long as ten years. LED (light emitting diode) exit signs are an easy product to install for applications where electricity is available. Our EXIT series thermoplastic exit sign begins at less than $20 and is available in black or white. The EXIT series comes with one backplate and two faceplates so it can be easily configured for either single or double-faced applications. The EXIT series comes with instructions, a mounting plate, and all installation hardware.

Exitsigns.net manufactures two types of non-electrical exit signs: self-luminous and photoluminescent. Self-luminous exit signs are powered by tritium, a glowing form of hydrogen, which is encased in shatterproof glass tubes to spell “EXIT.” Self-luminous exit signs are wet location rated so they can be installed both indoors and outdoors. Photoluminescent exit signs are glow-in-the-dark exit signs that are ideal for indoor applications where ambient light is present. Our photoluminescent exit signs absorb light and then glow when dark conditions are present, such as in a fire. Photoluminescent exit signs last for 25 years and our aluminum models can be recycled at the end of their lifespan.
