Lighted Exit Signs

Lighted exit signs, also known as emergency exit signs, are safety fixtures that provide an illuminated version of the word “EXIT.” Illuminated exit signs help to guide building occupants to the outside during an emergency, such as a fire or earthquake. Illuminated exit signs are required by federal, state, and local building codes. The placement of exit signs is mandated by these codes and generally requires placement throughout corridors and above doorways.
