Lighted Exit Signs

Lighted exit signs, also known as emergency exit signs, are safety fixtures that provide an illuminated version of the word “EXIT.” Illuminated exit signs help to guide building occupants to the outside during an emergency, such as a fire or earthquake. Illuminated exit signs are required by federal, state, and local building codes. The placement of exit signs is mandated by these codes and generally requires placement throughout corridors and above doorways. Illuminated exit signs are tested and certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). All Exitsigns.net illuminated exit signs are UL Listed and approved for use in the United States and Canada.

There are two types of exit signs, electrical and non-electrical. Electrical exit signs utilize energy efficient LEDs (light emitting diodes) to provide constant and even exit face illumination. Electrical exit signs are ideal for retrofit projects where electricity is already available. If electricity is unavailable for a retrofit project, install a non-electrical exit sign and save the cost of running electricity to new locations. When constructing a new facility, implementing non-electrical exit signs into the design can save thousands to tens of thousand of dollars. If you will own the facility you are constructing, using non-electrical will eliminate maintenance costs for as long as 25 years.

Thermoplastic LED exit signs are affordable and efficient, lasting up to 10 years and using less than five watts electricity at all times.
