The construction of self-luminous exit signs involves a number of components. Tritium, the glowing form of hydrogen we use, is encased in shatterproof borosilicate glass tubes that are arranged to spell the word “EXIT.” These tubes are enclosed in an impact-resistant thermoplastic housing that is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 176ºF. A 1/8” polycarbonate faceplate protects the colored face stencil and tritium while allowing easy visibility of the sign face. A thermoplastic frame encloses the fixture and a mounting bracket is included for easy installation. Face color choices include white, black, red, or green with frame color choices of white or black.

The Exitsigns.net SLE model is a 125-foot viewing distance self-luminous exit sign with aluminum mounting bracket.
